Meet our artists
Asha Kama
Karma Wangdi , aka Asha Kama is the pioneering torchbearer of contemporary art in Bhutan. Recipient of the prestigious National Order of Merit ( Gold ) for his unstinted support to the youth. Asha Kama continues to live and breathe art at VAST Bhutan, a non-profit he established in 1998.
Pem Lham
Pem Lham's artistic pursuits gravitate towards oil pastel, with a preference for the versatility of acrylics in her works. Through this medium she finds true comfort, infusing her creations with a delicate blend of technique and innovation.
Kunzang Wangmo
Aka Dzongu, draws her inspiration from a profound philosophy instilled by her mentor: "Nature is the best teacher." For her, art is more than just a medium of expression; it's a source of boundless gratitude and joy, shaping her journey into the person she has become.
Zimbiri
Zimbiri emerges as a trailblazer, heralding a new era as Bhutan's inaugural female solo exhibitor. Rooted in the rich soil of traditional Bhutanese artistry, her creations bloom with the nuanced influences of 20th-century Western movements like Minimalism and colour field painting.
Gyempo Wangchuk
Gyempo Wangchuk, a classically trained artist is surprising the art scene in Bhutan by introducing elements of conceptualization and self expression in age old traditional methods, truly rare and refreshing.
